Blue Ridge American Folk Magick
October 5th – October 9th, 2022
The American Witch Tour is heading to the Blue Ridge Mountains, outside of Asheville, NC this Fall.
These Mystical Mountains were the bedrock of Appalachian Folk Magick, a cultural sharing of spirituality, medicine, and magick amongst the area’s Indigenous Tribes, African Slaves, and Scotch Irish indentured servants and immigrants.
Explore how the spirit of these communities, through invasion, oppression, sexism, and displacement, evolve through cultural sharing, while honoring their own heritage, to curate this magical nook in the Americas.
Though beautiful, these mountains were harsh and disconnected from the outside world. Communities turned inward, often towards the women, setting the stage for the rise of the Mountain Medicine Woman, Midwifery, and Modern Herbalism.
We will meet with the Cherokee Community, local Hoodoo Practitioners, Folk Witches, and Granny Witches to experience their stories and hear their voices.

Stephanie, the witch behind My Altared Home, is a private, practicing Traditional Witch from southern New Jersey, but enjoys creating public ritual with witches from all paths. Her childhood was a rich blend of the Other World, Roman Catholicism, and Italian Folk practices. Her current craft embraces her Celtic and Slavic heritage, hedge crossing, divination, and witchcraft. She draws energy and inspiration from the land around her, the elements, the moon, and her own inherent power.

The American Witch Tour is a vulnerable observation of the human experience throughout a rich and diverse American landscape.
The Witch is born out of necessity, choosing to work with aligned tradition and folklore to decide their own outcome. They are in harmony with the elements, the pulse of the community, and in alliance with the energy of the land.
This is a celebration of our Inner Witch, limitless and sovereign.
Through agency and courage, the witch has been shown to be an integral part of the community, serving the disenfranchised.
All are welcome here. This is a safe space for education, transformation, and unearthing the power of our autonomy and choice.
